Gran Turismo 7 gets update (1.29) with VR mode and new cars

“Gran Turismo 7”, the racing game developed by Polyphony Digital for PlayStation 5, is getting a new update to version 1.29 this week.

The update brings some new features, including VR mode for PlayStation VR2 and four new vehicles, which were introduced by chief developer Kazunori Yamauchi on Twitter.

Gran Tursimo Update 1.29
The VR mode allows players to experience the racing game up close by getting into the action with the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset. In addition, players will also gain access to four new cars with the update. The names or models of the new cars have not yet been announced, but players can already make guesses based on silhouettes posted by Kazunori Yamauchi on Twitter.

The new cars seem to be a Citroen DS, a Honda RA272, a Carrera 2.7 RS or a derivative like the M471 RS Lightweight or 2.8 RSR as well as a new Vision Gran Turismo car. This is what the editors of GT Planet, a website specialising in Gran Turismo, suspect. The fourth vehicle could be a new Vision Gran Turismo car, which has not yet been announced.

In addition to the aforementioned content, the 1.29 update will also bring general improvements as well as menu items that will present players with new challenges. The update will be unlocked on 21 February 2023.

Overall, the upcoming update is an important addition to “Gran Turismo 7” as it gives players more ways to enjoy the racing game. The new vehicles expand the already impressive vehicle selection of the game and will surely excite many players.
