To mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2023, Xbox has announced several new accessible updates for games, tools and resources.

These updates will be available to both game developers and gamers. Global Accessibility Awareness Day is an important moment for Xbox to celebrate the 427 million gamers with impairments worldwide and to highlight its current efforts to promote accessibility.

According to a study by Censuswide, around 66% of gamers with impairments say they encounter obstacles or problems when playing games. That’s why it’s especially important for Xbox to make games accessible for everyone. Accessibility updates include new accessibility settings in the Xbox app on PC, updated Accessibility Support pages, an improved experience on Xbox.com, and advancements to existing accessibility offerings.

In addition, Game Accessibility Feature Tags will be introduced and the Xbox Adaptive Controller will be spotlighted in collaboration with XboxNL and the HiPerks Foundation. Xbox will also support athletes at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
