Microsoft: 10-year Call of Duty deal with Nintendo
Microsoft has announced that they have signed a 10-year deal with Activision to bring “Call of Duty” titles to Nintendo gaming platforms.
Until now, the games in this popular first-person shooter series were only available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms. So this announcement is a big win for Nintendo console owners, who can now enjoy Call of Duty games.
Back in 2019, Activision released a mobile version of the game called “Call of Duty: Mobile”, expanding the reach of “Call of Duty”. The expansion to Nintendo platforms will certainly benefit fans and the game’s publisher, as there are annual releases of the shooter that promise many future titles.
However, the annual release schedule of “Call of Duty” will change slightly in 2023. Instead of a new game, a “Modern Warfare II” expansion or “Premium” re-release will be released before Treyarch’s next “Black Ops” release in 2024.
Overall, the future of “Call of Duty” seems promising, with an expanded audience through release on Nintendo platforms and an annual release of new content and expansions.
