Hackers delete Elden Ring game saves!

Elden Ring is currently the most played game on PCs and consoles and an absolute hit.

Around twelve million copies of the cult game were sold in the first few weeks since its release. Currently, you can hardly get around Elden Ring if you are interested in current video and computer games. Recently, a video made the rounds in which a YouTuber completed the game in under three hours. As you can see, Elden Ring is currently a big topic and on everyone’s lips.

However, the worldwide gaming fun was recently marred by hacker attacks, in which a lot of game saves were deleted. Hackers had exploited a security vulnerability that causes the game to crash. In addition, it was even possible for them to delete game saves. The PC version is particularly affected. The hack takes effect in the multiplayer mode of the game, in the middle of an invasion by an enemy player. If you then restart the game, it takes forever to get into the game – and your character is dead!

The game’s developers, Bandai Namco and From Software, have yet to offer a workaround. On Reddit, however, the temporary solution is circulating that you should end Elden Ring shortly before the death animation with the key combination Alt + F1. This way, you can save the character and the previous game state after restarting. Of course, we couldn’t test this, but we hope that it will help you if your game has problems or you have been the victim of such an attack.

The video in this tweet shows you how the game crashes.
