God of War: Ragnarok breaks all records!
According to the official PlayStation Twitter account, God of War Ragnarok for Playstation 5 sold more copies than any other PlayStation exclusive release in its first week of release.
In just five days after launch, the game sold more than 5 million copies, according to publisher Sony, making it the fastest-selling first-party title in PlayStation history. According to Sony, the game crossed the (virtual) counter 5.1 million times in its first week, putting it ahead of The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Ragnarok’s predecessor God of War (2018). It was already foreseeable that Ragnarok would have a similar success as its predecessor, but the new PlayStation 5 title could more than exceed expectations.
The action-adventure game, which was released on November 9, has become a favorite, not only of consumers, but also of critics. A score of 94 percent on Metacritic, based on 135 critics’ reviews, underlines the consistently very good opinion of the experts. A similarly good result was only achieved by the Ragnarök predecessor This is the same score as the predecessor, God of War, from 2018.
