While Google Stadia is being discontinued, Amazon’s cloud gaming offering, christened Luna, continues to expand. Hundreds of games, some of them current, are available as streams in up to 1080p resolution. As announced by Amazon, Games on Fire TV is now also available on the company’s own Fire TV products. Games on Fire TV offers game trailers and Twitch streams in addition to Luna access.

Here is a list of compatible Fire TV products:

Fire TV Stick (from second generation)
Fire TV Cube (first generation and up)
Fire TV (third generation)
Toshiba Fire TV Edition
Insignia Fire TV Edition

Other Luna-compatible platforms include Amazon’s Fire tablets, Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones, and certain Samsung smart TVs. Control is also very flexible, available via the separately available Luna controller, via a smartphone, or via Bluetooth-connected controllers from the Xbox or PlayStation, for example. Mouse-and-keyboard control is also available.

Luna costs $9.99 per month. Amazon Prime customers can use Luna for free, but then they only have access to a rotating selection of games and not the entire range.  In addition, there are a few other cheaper subscription models for family or retro games only.  Ubisoft’s Plus game collection can also be streamed via the Luna platform for $17.99 per month.

It has not yet been announced when Luna will launch in Europe and then also in Germany. In the US, Luna started in March 2022.
