Amazon plans “God of War” series
With “God of War Ragnarok”, the really good sequel to “God of War” from 2018 has just been released, and the next big thing is already on the horizon – Amazon and Sony are planning a joint series.
After the brute video game series God of War has kept the gaming world in suspense for years with its cinematic outings about the anti-hero Kratos, Amazon is already one step further in terms of marketing. The series project, which will also be shown on Amazon Prime Video, has been given the green light.
Rafe Judkins, the man already responsible for the Amazon series The Wheel of Time, will be in charge. The two authors Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are to provide him with the hopefully terrific scripts for the series.
The website “Hollywood Reporter” reports the following about the plot of the upcoming series: After the Greek demigod Kratos took revenge on the gods of Olympus, he found a new home in the Nordic realm of Midgard. When his beloved wife dies, he embarks on an arduous journey with his son Atreus to scatter her ashes from the highest peak.
With a series conversion of God of War, Amazon has one of the really big themes in the aming sector on its hands. In terms of popularity, the Sony exclusive title can easily compete with heavyweights like Halo, Uncharted or The Witcher.
