All-new PlayStation Plus launches in June
There is good and at the same time exciting news for all PlayStation fans!
Because PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now will be merged in the summer to its new service under the old familiar name. Sony announced this yesterday and at the same time also provided a list of the new rates and the included features. Thus, for the re-launch of PlayStation Plus, they want to launch with no less than three new membership plans, which will be offered at prices ranging from $60 euros to $120 euros (per year).
PlayStation Plus: One new service – three different rates
In addition to the “PlayStation Plus Essential” plan, which will cost between $9.99 (monthly) and $59.99 with annual payment and is comparable to the current PlayStation Plus membership, there will be the two new plans “PlayStation Plus Extra” and “PlayStation Plus Premium“.
While “PlayStation Plus Essential” gives you two downloadable games per month, access to online multiplayer and cloud storage for games as a feature, “PlayStation Plus Extra” also grants access to 400 streaming games on top of that for the annual price of $99.99, which are supposed to be the “most entertaining PS4 and PS5 games” according to the manufacturer. Okay, that doesn’t sound bad already.
400 games aren’t enough? How about 740?
The “PlayStation Plus Premium” subscription for an annual price of $119.99 packs another 340 additional games on top here. Among other things, classics from the first PlayStation generations and the possibility to play test versions of purchase games in advance. The new rates are to be introduced in Asia first in the summer, with America and Europe following a bit later. But don’t worry, because Sony still plans to roll it out in all relevant markets in the first half of 2022.
