The newly released cat adventure Stray is inviting users to explore and purr on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. The gem has been well received in reviews, even cats seem to like it. And in fitting to Stray’s great success, the first mods for the PC version of Stray have already been released.

With most mods, the pretty Stray cat can be colored differently, something that the game does not support out of the box. The modder NorskPL even offers cat owners personalized cat mods – send photos of your cat, pay some money and you can play as your own cat – the demand is so big, that NorskPL cannot accept any more orders for the time being. At least: There is the possibility to join a waiting list.
It wouldn’t be the modding scene if there weren’t funny to bizarre things among the Stray mods. For example, the cat can be replaced by a full-figured comic Garfield, a small dog or even CJ from GTA: San Andreas. The so called Joke Mod CJ looks… Well, you’d better have a look at it yourself.
Stray is the best proof that cats are experts in winning us over – not just in pictures or videos on the internet, but also as protagonists in games. Game publisher Annapurna Interactive and the team at BlueTwelve Studio have created a wonderfully atmospheric, sometimes funny, sometimes dark adventure that keeps us glued to the screen.
