Four Sega Genesis classics have been added to the Nintendo Switch online library. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, The Revenge of Shinobi, Landstalker and Crusader of Century are now available on the subscription-based classic games platform.
These games add to the 30 or so Genesis titles already available, as well as many other NES, SNES and Game Boy releases. That’s right: Sonic and Mario are now friends.
For the uninitiated, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts is a badass platform game that still gives adults of a certain age nightmares. The Revenge of Shinobi is a solid entry in the original ninja simulation series. Landstalker is a cult favourite among isometric action RPGs, and Crusader of Centy is a well-rated but relatively unknown Zelda clone. Crusader of Cent is hard to find and physical copies sell for thousands of dollars, making it a collector’s item for retro game enthusiasts. Here’s a video of all four games in action so you can decide if you want to spend $50 on an annual subscription to the NSO Expansion Pack.
These games are only available with a $50 annual subscription to the Expansion Pack, which also gives you access to N64 and Game Boy Advance titles. If you only want to play from a library of NES, SNES and Game Boy releases, choose the cheaper standard NSO subscription for $20 per year. Nintendo is not very fast with these releases, releasing new games about once a month. So check the entire library before entering your card details.
